Leanne (Findlay) van der Zweep
This is Leanne's eleventh year with the Winchester Skating Club. She is an ISPC (Level 2) certified coach and is currently completing her Level 3 practical component. Leanne has 13 years of coaching experience in all levels and disciplines, including competitive and test stream, freeskate, dance, skills, interpretive, choreography and off-ice. Leanne also has a Master's degree in sport psychology and a Ph.D. in child development. As an amateur skater, Leanne achieved her gold freeskate, skills, dances, and interpretive, as well as her Junior Competitive Test. Cheri St-Marseille
This is Cheri's eighth year with the Winchester skating club. Cheri is an ISPC (Level 2) certified coach and is currently working on her level 3. She has 11 years of coaching experience as well as 4 years as an evaluator. She teaches all levels and disciplines, competitive and test stream, including freeskate, dance, skills, interpretive as well as synchronized skating and off-ice programs. She is also an experienced choreographer with extensive Ballet and modern dance training. Cheri has achieved her gold dances, artistic and Jr. Competitive and was a professional skater with Disney On-Ice. Chantal Lewis
This is Chantal’s 2nd year with the Winchester Skating Club. She has been certified level one since 1992, and has seven years of coaching experience in the province of Quebec. She achieved her gold level in Freestyle, 7th figure, Junior Silver in dance and Junior Competitive. Chantal was a competitive skater for 12 years and did intensive training with international and Olympic level coaches and skaters. Through middle and high school, she participated in the “sports-etudes” program for figure skating. Chantal specializes in Freestyle and Choreography and can coach in both official languages. Chantal’s coaching philosophy: “I believe that all children have different needs, abilities and talents and it is my job as a professional certified coach to bring the best out in all my students. I always encourage my students to have fun, work hard and always do their very best.”
Amy Baker
This is Amy's third year with our club. She attained a degree in Recreation and Leisure studies at Brock University. She coached skating for the City of St. Catharines for four years. She has also coached for the Special Olympics in Ottawa and St. Catharines. She is a Level 1 certified coach and has completed her Level 2 theory course. She is also a certified Power Skating coach. Amy has 6 years of coaching experience. She will be coaching on Tuesdays and Thursdays nights during our CanSkate.
Leah Ann Smith
Leah Ann will be coaching on Saturdays on our Advanced CanSkate sessions.
